Venus is conjunct Neptune in Pisces today and tomorrow, with Mars squaring them from Sagittarius. Addtionally, Moon approaches Venus/Neptune Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Relationships. Perhaps plagued by selfish desires or righteous indignation from nethers we can’t control, Mars squaring this otherwise nebulous and beautiful Venus/Neptune conjunction in Pisces brings us a window of time we might be better off laying down our guns in order to drink in an extra-passionate display of indulgences. Of course Mars in Sagittarius can take our fiery passions, desires, and anger to extremes, but the deep love-infused feminine bath of Moon/Venus/Neptune in Pisces douses those flames with hymns of the Sirens and leaves us with no capacity to disregard their tune. This is a Piscean window. What do you see outside your Piscean window? The cliffs of a beautiful Mediterranean village under a blue sky and beside a calm sea? Gorgeous fields of poppies? A babbling spring brook filled with ducklings and swans? Whatever it may be, this is the story of these days. Be mindful of your temper, however. Don’t let often-overly-righteous Mars slash and burn the villages, fields, and banks of your otherwise delightful scenery!

Mars moved into Sagittarius overnight, and Mercury is conjunct Moon’s South Node in Capricorn. Take heed of Mercury’s counsel today. He has indispensable knowledge for us from the growing Capricorn round table. Messages we’ve been ignoring for quite some time now. Mars in Sagittarius brings renewed stamina, drive, and excitement for what is to come, as terrifying as it may have seemed lately. The changes we’ve been going through haven’t been easy, which is why we haven’t changed some things we know we should yet, but our quiet inner spirit knows the value and opportunities that await when we do finally appease those insistent gods. There is a lasting vitality to Mars in Sagittarius. One in which we can deliver the goods we’ve been meaning to. It is a primal force driving and inspiring us to expand far beyond the limitations we have been up against in the past few months. The daunting collapse and painful rebuild of our lives that has been in process just became a little more understandable. We are beginning to recognize the value of loss and the opportunities that arise from it, albeit gradually. Place your goals in front of you and don’t veer off course. Mars insists we take the chances we’ve been meaning to take!

This is the assimilation of all knowledge gained from our past. The rising of truths from the depths of our unconsciousness hold keys to understanding how we’ve fallen short in our lives. Fear can betray the values inherent in our processing this. Only when we trust the journey we’ve navigated has brought us to this day for good reason can we forgive ourselves and find faith in the process unfolding ahead of us.

Take what you’ve learned and don’t waste that knowledge. Assimilate it by applying it to all the unknowns in your life. The Great Mystery reveals itself in subtle nuances if we expand the vessel in which we absorb the truth. That vessel is our consciousness.

The light all around us is not only within the source, it is in the air that we breathe, the invisible space between the provider and recipient. And once that light is assimilated, it can be a reflective source of more light to others.

Our inner power is rooted in our sexuality. These forces swarm through our unconscious with subtle but very seated ties to ancient traditions and ceremony. With Moon conjunct Mars and opposing Uranus on the sexual axis of Scorpio/Taurus this morning, we find tremendous inner strength to break the chains that bind us to those ancient traditions. In doing so, we liberate the most powerful forces within us. Forces that for so long have been unconsciously associated with traditions that no longer–or never did–resonate with us. Jupiter and Venus meeting in Jupiter’s home of Sagittarius today lights the way forward across our new landscape of inner power. Rebel against what no longer resonates deep within. Build a new altar that honors the spirit of life flowing through the death of you.

Mercury stationing retrograde today at 27° Scorpio just before it reaches Venus at 28° Scorpio brings to light the underlying currents of power struggles and past trauma we are afraid to face and learn about ourselves and our relationships. Facing our trauma is difficult work and not for the faint of heart, but we are given the opportunity now to reflect upon these issues for the next month, as Mercury goes back through Scorpio. When it reaches the Sun at 18° Scorpio on November 11th, we will more fully understand these matters and how to express them outwardly. As is always the case with Mercury retrograde, be mindful of reflection. It is the ideal time to be introspective about matters relating to how we manage our lives, in particular our relationships, sexuality, limitations, and secrets (Scorpio). Growth comes through reflection and action, the latter being the most difficult to actualize.

Moon joins Jupiter at 23° Sagittarius later this morning, bringing us an opportunity to expand our consciousness into these reaches of reflection in order to better illuminate the resolutions we are facing with our own identity. Our emotional body is awakening. Nurture it and remind it that it is safe in your own embrace.

Mars in Sagittarius

No. 9, 1948, by Mark Rothko

Your passion for deep understanding dominates your consciousness. There is a raw drive to discover the world and all its natural riches and treasures, revelations and awakenings, religions and philosophies. There is always more more more, and when the innermost core of your being is tirelessly seeking every one of those mores you may collapse under the weight of exhaustion. Be patient in your pursuit of knowledge. Dance around the tomes of wisdom with discernment and purpose. Beware of the tendency to rush into believing things without understanding why you do. The thoughtless raging drive of Mars may forget to reconsider the belief systems that have conditioned you for so long. Dogmatic religious structures may trigger aggressive remnants from past lives. Fire and brimstone may actually exist in the psychic memory. In other words, born with this, you may have burned at the stake.

Another signature of atonement, Mars in Sagittarius will beckon you to stand up for authenticity, drive you to weed out the bullshit, the grandiose, the dogma. But check your head, because this could also point to YOU being the bullshit, the grandiose, the dogma. Are you standing up for the superficial? Are you driven to preach a false gospel? Make amends and seek an honest truth, and know why you are seeking it.

Fantastic opportunities may unfold and tempt you, but are they legitimate opportunities? Take heed, listen carefully, and think before you act. Compare. Contrast. Discern. The gem is there, just don’t hasten to find it without analyzing the proper path first.

So, maybe it’s time to pack your bag and head for distant shores, greener pastures, different people, higher consciousness. After all, the chains have held you down for far too long. Break free, board the bird, fly away. But have a purpose. Know why you seek what you seek, even if you don’t know what you seek.

This is fire with fire, so breathe through life. Allow a tempered air to calm the flames so you don’t burn anyone, including yourself.
