The Fog is Lifting

Posted Leave a commentPosted in Astrology, Blog

Saturn. Great commanding deity of TIME, KARMA, WORK, AUTHORITY, STRUCTURE. Without Saturn we would get nothing accomplished, never feel guilty about anything, never reap what we sow, never mature, and nothing would stay together. With Saturn reigning over all of these things, thus the weight it can put upon our own shoulders, it is no surprise that its changes will affect our own.

As Saturn stations direct this week (yesterday, technically), the proverbial chains that have been holding us down, back, and in, are unlocked and beginning to come loose. The fog is lifting. We are beginning to feel that there truly is potential in the plans and visions we were coaxing into existence earlier this year but were stifled in our capacity to manifest. A very heavy weight is coming off our chests. The pieces that fell apart between April 29th and now can be picked up and put back together again, but this time we can build an even better future, as difficult as it may sound.

We of course have to remember that Saturn is still in its ruling sign of Capricorn, along with Pluto and Moon’s South Node, so our coming achievements will reflect the essence of this archetype. The essence of Capricorn is journeying from student to master, beginner to advanced, childish to mature, the sea to the mountaintop. It is utilizing the lessons learned through hard work, diligence, integrity, strife, karma, guilt, and the crossing of boundaries, to make something of our soul’s journey. We all fell somewhere these past five months, perhaps we fell and fell and fell. Maybe we did things we shouldn’t have done. Maybe we got lazy or stupid while soaking up so much fun in the summer Sun. But hopefully we all made it through and are here to read or write about it.

Take heed of the whispers Saturn gleaned upon you from time-to-time over the summer (or winter in the southern hemisphere). Ideas of how to improve your career, your practice, your study, your mentoring, your parenting, your time management. These are all areas we are going to begin feeling better about. The work is not finished by any means, but there is beginning to be light at the end of the dark confusing tunnel of setbacks and struggles we have been through. With right action and conscious process we can attain now what we could only imagine attaining before. We can now climb that mountain.

Much as we have to remember that Saturn (and Pluto and SN) are still in Capricorn, we also have to remember that all the inner planets, including Sun, are either in or approaching Libra. They will one-by-one come to square Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn between Sep 22 and Nov 5. This is not to be taken lightly, because the inner planets reflect our day-to-day experiences and relationships, especially the latter when they’re all in Libra. We will be forced to examine and build upon the pieces of our relationships that may have been shattered or struggled to evolve lately. Saturn and Pluto can bring tremendous limitations and loss into our lives. Loss of people, jobs, security, friends, health. But they knock us down that we might rise again mightier than before. The phoenix rising from the ashes, building a new future, a new relationship, a new career. Particularly as these inner planets transit Libra and square Saturn and Pluto, we will feel a strong pull to honor the significant people in our lives and how we emotionally manage those relationships. Remember that honoring those people can also mean letting them go. This is about aligning our integrity in the realm of relationships through whatever is necessary. How can we build upon the relationships we are already in in a more harmonious and balanced manner? What can we let go of willingly that will bring peace to the love we share with them? It will be an October of recognizing our passive-aggressive behaviors and perhaps being put in our place because of them. Be mindful of your actions, but especially be mindful of your REactions. Saturn is prone to taking things too far just to find out where the boundaries are. If you remain vigilant of your actions, you can find that boundary without crossing it. In other words, think before you speak.

Find your gift. Nurture that gift. While Moon’s south node is in Capricorn, its north node is in Cancer. North node is the beacon we strive to find on the high seas of life. It is the coordinate we set our tack to. With Moon’s north node in Cancer we need to process our experiences and feel into our emotional bodies. It’s much easier said than done, but spending time within ourselves and learning to understand how we react to things that happen to us, be it loss, fear, anxiety, or even joy, ecstasy, peace, helps us get to know our inner child. There is always an inner child to nurture, secure, protect, and teach. When we saddle up and gather our reins, or hoist the mainsail and cast off our mooring toward the beacon in the distance, take good care of yourself. Don’t be so hard on yourself or so rigid in your game plan. Saturn in Capricorn is a double signature for rigidity and strictness. Cancer softens. So, without being lazy or possessive or gluttonous, as Cancer is wont to be, be soft on yourself and others on this journey.

Your achievements await you, but you must honor those around you who are accompanying you on this journey through life. Love the ones who love you. We cannot take this ride alone. Build a new future from the pieces that remain and build it with those you love. The lenses are being polished and the lighthouse is beckoning. It is time to set your course. Blessings, mate!

Full Moon in Pisces, etc.

Posted Leave a commentPosted in Astrology, Blog

• Venus and Mercury conjunct at 28° Virgo this morning at 11:08am EDT
• Full Moon at 21° Pisces late tonight (early tomorrow) at 12:34am EDT
• Mars at 17° Virgo and Neptune at 17° Pisces (opposition) at 1:20am EDT (both T-squaring Jupiter at 16° Sagittarius)

It is always good to feel into your life sometimes instead of always trying to figure it out and get it all perfect. Full Moons are when things are most exposed, and when it is in Pisces it exposes our vulnerabilities, the things we neglect, and things that are out of our control, but it also emanates an etheric swathe of divine serenity. A feeling that everything is going to be okay. This is always a nice feeling, of course, but the rub is that the full Moon opposes Sun in Virgo, where it is cavorting with its usual compadres, Mercury and Venus (and presently Mars). Virgo is the ultimate focal point of grounded consciousness. It brings that celestial serenity down through our root and gravitates us to the Earth’s core. This axis of the zodiac is the most paradoxical of all axes. Applying it to everyday life, however, it can best be conveyed as doing and not-doing. This paradox is repeatedly mentioned in Taoism. “Practice not-doing and everything will fall into place.”

This cluster of inner planets and Sun in Virgo opposing Moon and Neptune in Pisces is asking us to recognize this dichotomy in our lives. The dilemma between doing and not-doing. So much can be drawn from the tapestry of merely existing that it often feels as though nothing else needs to be accomplished. God already accomplished everything for us. But Virgo demands that we take that stellar awakening and understanding and apply it to everything we do, because we of course have to DO. What are we doing? How are we doing it?

Mercury and Venus at 28° Virgo brings such a culminating sense of achievement to our work and our relationships in life. Although this transit is already separating, the residual effects are hopefully beautiful for you. We are beginning to graduate into the realm of Libra tonight, with Mercury crossing into the Venusian sign at 3:15am EDT. Our personal needs and reflections upon the management of our lives is shifting into the needs of others and how we can work together to better achieve collective serenity.

But Mars opposes Neptune! That devilish Mars can throw wrenches into plans and do things we don’t expect or want. Things that, during transits like this especially, can be completely out of our control. Like our feelings about doing and not-doing. Agitation, anxiety, stress, fear. They can take us for rides we never would ask to go on. But Neptune in Pisces asks us to have faith that the struggles and trauma and setbacks are stepping stones to a richer and more fulfilling destiny. They’re obstacles we must overcome to reach the divine serenity emanating from the orb we call Neptune. This transit, especially with Jupiter in its own sign of Sagittarius squaring them, brings tremendous growth of consciousness, even if it comes disguised as trouble or strife. See what you can find in any struggles you encounter that may be silver linings leading you to greater greatness. YOU instead of you. Blessings.

Moon’s Occultations

Posted Leave a commentPosted in Astrology, Blog

After Moon’s transit and occultation of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn these past few days brought us another recognition of the structures that may be falling apart in our lives, today’s Aquarius Moon allows us to recognize how to upgrade and rebuild those structures to be more useful and helpful for the community and our friendships. Listen carefully to your higher consciousness today and tomorrow; that little voice in your head that usually seems to be right about everything despite how often you resist obeying it. Release the shadows from the heart by opening the gates of the Sun in Gemini to shine in, to heal, to protect, and to instill much needed tranquility and FUN again.

Mars in Taurus (February 14 – March 31)

Mars is fierce independence and individuality, as well as driving force and race horse stamina. Yet the fire that rages can burn and destroy if there is not valuable purpose and direction behind the energy. Mars seeks self-reliance while in this sign, teaching us how to fight to achieve our personal goals through independence and initiative. We will never achieve our goals if we do not take a stand and expose ourselves for the world to see. Risk is absolutely necessary on the path toward success. It is high time, especially as Mars is still conjunct Uranus, to hoist the sails, take the helm of your Soul, and set a course for where YOU need to go.

Beware: Due to the conflict between Taurus’s inertia and Mars’s stamina, tension can arise in many ways during this time; relationships, fatigue, finances, sexuality, and our fear of risk. There is potential for burning through our resources due to improper reflection and foresight, because Mars charges forth often without thinking things through.

Lesson: Be sure to have valuable reasons for individuating and seeking your own course, not just arrogant selfishness. Be bold in your independence while respecting the independence of loved ones and those you have relationships with.

Setting the Stage (Lunar Eclipse in Leo)

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse
Monday, January 21, 2019, 12:16am EST
Sun 0°51′ Aquarius, Moon 0°51′ Leo
North Node 26°46′ Cancer, South Node 26°46′ Capricorn
Visibility: All of North and South America

As is always the case with eclipses, we have the opportunity to channel the direct transmission between ourselves (Earth) and our luminaries (Sun and Moon). Sun at 0° Aquarius > Earth > Moon at 0° Leo. This is a portal in the most real sense; a time to recognize and reflect upon the journey behind and ahead of us. With the Full Moon in Leo, this reflection is about self-awareness, self-identity, and especially creative self-expression. Through solemn intention, preparedness, and right action we can access potentials we might otherwise not access. The most promising future that can arise from the intensity of eclipses is a result of the actions we take to manifest it.

A Lunar eclipse in Leo amplifies the importance of discovering the wholeness of our individual identity, often through self-expressive creativity or lucid recognition of the Self through emotional, intellectual, or intuitive awakening. It involves stripping away that which does not serve us in our self-centering process. Detaching. These awakenings can occur in glimpses when one suddenly recognizes their Self through their creative process. Leo sometimes gets a bad rap for self-centeredness, but it’s more accurately about finding the center of the Self. All that desire for being recognized is actually the desire for self-discovery.

How we act upon our intuitive and creative self-expression depends upon how self-aware and ready we are to do so. Said differently, the extent to which we are able to manifest the potentials of these celestial activations depends upon how evolved we are and how ready we are to receive them. Feeling into the direct transmission line between ourselves (Earth) and our luminaries (Sun and Moon) through bodywork, sexuality, meditation, the creative process, or intentional ceremony can help advance our preparedness so we can awaken to our most ideal course of action.

I recommend at least taking a moment Sunday evening, if not engaging in a full ceremony, to voice or write your intentions for the next six months. It is during these next six months that you must SET THE STAGE for the direction that must be taken at the end of that period. On July 2nd of this year, Mars enters Leo on the same day as the next eclipse (a Solar eclipse), thus the exact same placement of this Sunday’s Full Moon. This is a prime example of how these cycles work. Lunar eclipse with Moon at 0° Leo, Solar eclipse in six months with Mars at 0° Leo. How we spend the next six months reflecting upon our identity, our creative self-expression, and the path we need to take to manifest our legacy will have a direct impact upon how READY we will be to TAKE ACTION when Mars goes into Leo on July 2nd. As I mentioned above, we are SETTING THE STAGE during this eclipse. Gather your props, your characters, and channel the muse that sings between Sun and Moon Sunday night to write your script between now and then. Desire your wholeness, center yourself, align your sights, and prepare the stage for your next journey.

Ceremony and conscious intention combine to activate the potentials inherent in the placements of Sun and Moon. Sit in silence. Meditate. Listen to the higher mind, your inner child, your shadows. They speak softly.

Like anything else, observe where this eclipse (Moon, Sun, and Nodes) are aspecting your other planets and angles (Ascendant, Descendant, MC, and IC) to understand in what arena this eclipse will be affecting your life.

Moon Conjunct Uranus in Taurus

Posted Leave a commentPosted in Astrology, Blog, Spirit

Hypergenese de la Reapparition, by Victor Brauner

As I write this, the Moon is fresh into the sign of Taurus and exactly conjunct Uranus at 1°. Uranus is in the process of retrograding back into Aries until Early January, when it will station direct and make its final push into Taurus for the next seven years.

There is much talk of Uranus’ ingress into Taurus having an inevitable effect upon the global economy, as well as our own personal economies. Related to that is the fact that Uranus will also have an effect upon how we feel about ourselves in general. Taurus represents that which makes us feel like we have the supplies and resources to survive, which of course means our money and our material belongings. But that also boils down to our self-esteem and self-worth, because without either of those we struggle immensely to survive and fend for ourselves. So, this brings us to Uranus and the Moon…

Although Uranus is the closest of the outer planets, it still takes seven years for it to move through one zodiac sign. This means it has its way with all of us at a relatively glacial pace. It imbues shades of progress, raising the bar, scientific advancement, higher consciousness, and idealism, yet it also can spell shocking disruptions, electrifying spontaneity (yes, literally), elitist mentalities, and unhealthy detachments. In the sign of Taurus, Uranus is going to shake up these tendencies in all of us. It will let us know, perhaps shockingly so, if we are feeling good about ourselves for the wrong reasons (do we feel better than others because of our social status or wealth, do we avoid situations because we don’t want to appear dirty or lower than our peers?). But positively, Uranus will beckon us to upgrade our self-esteem, advance our perspective on the world through awakening to a higher consciousness, allow us to reevaluate how we approach our worth through lessons in humility (crumbling elitist mentalities), and ultimately bring us all into a higher awareness of the value of our resources as a collective. What is this bright blue ball spinning free worth to us? How can we ideally advance humanity to respect collective resources? How do we regulate the global economy while minimizing corruption? Will cryptocurrencies evolve more into the mainstream in order to counter the rampant fraud associated with our current state of affairs? Will there be a new method of exchange? We shall see.

Moon was just full in Aries on Monday night. This was a powerful full Moon because it occurred at 1° Aries, which is pretty much the absolute beginning of the zodiac. Talk about a brand new cycle for us all! It shined upon us telling us to begin anew, stand up and fight, and TAKE ACTION! Now that she is in Taurus, especially conjunct Uranus, we are being called to recognize our resources, recognize what they mean to us, and truly understand how they can provide for our family, our home, our security, and our progress moving forward. This beautiful deity is shining beams of ideas down upon us, asking us to listen quietly so we can hear how we can feel strong, confident, and capable of sustaining ourselves, while at the same time channeling the higher ideals and awakening creative visions of our futures. It can be bring artists flashes of immense personal inspiration, helping align our emotional processes in rapid downloads of creative enlightenment.

Remember, Moon travels through each sign for only 2.5 days, so don’t miss this opportunity to find quietude so you can listen to the Moonbeams charged with the frequencies of Uranus channeling the outer depths of Taurus.

We can all identify with an innate desire to raise the bar on our self-esteem, how we value ourselves, and how we sustain our own lifestyles. We need to recognize how to approach these desires with a higher consciousness so that we are not seeking them for mundane base purposes, but instead to build a sustainable future for ourselves and those we love. Taurus appreciates everything that is truly built to last.

Mercury Cazimi in Virgo

Mercury Cazimi in Virgo

Let’s get busy!

Cazimi is a medieval astrological term referring to when a planet is so close to a conjunction with the Sun that it is “in the heart” of it, which is the literal translation of cazimi. Mercury will be conjunct the Sun at 28° Virgo tonight at 9:30pm (EDT). This cazimi only happens in Virgo every year or two. Let’s explore that….

Mercury will be supercharged by the Sun in one of its own ruling signs (Virgo) today and tomorrow, prompting us to finalize and complete our projects, check everything off our lists, perfect that spreadsheet, put a more perfect coat of finish on that furniture, run those extra two miles, eat the healthiest salad, and be the best we can be before we need to go face other people. We want to be in control of our lives. We want to be able to manage and handle everything that comes our way…perfectly. And we at last want to be recognized for it all!

Virgo is the last sign of personal ego development before we recognize the need for others in our lives (Libra). This is why it is the sign of perfecting, fixing, maintaining, as well as our health. It is how we manage our lives, it is how we work, how we function. The last stop on our own train of selfhood before everyone else gets on board. We want to look and function our best for that significant other in our lives, right? Well, the health of that relationship, and our relationship to everyone, depends on how healthy our relationship to ourselves is. This is what we analyze in Virgo, what we care about. We want to be beautiful, productive, healthy, and in control.

Mercury also rules Gemini, which is the sign of gathering information and knowledge, studying, and trying to figure everything out. Virgo, Mercury’s other domain, is the act of implementing that knowledge and making it work as best we can; what you do with your Gemini knowledge.

When Sun and Mercury come together, it is a merging of the energies of Leo and Virgo. These two signs are next to each other in the Zodiac and represent, respectively, the expression and refinement of our personal ego development. They create a sense of need and duty to perform, accomplish, and be recognized. They challenge our capacity to function as optimally as possible. When they are in Virgo, we are pushed to shore up all possible malfunctions, rid ourselves of any unhealthy patterns, bring our lives into a place of peak management, and show the world the results. Think of it as a car that needs work. Today we are focused on fixing every single thing wrong with that car so it will run smoothly for years and years to come. And then we break out the soap and warm water and hand-wash that car until it looks like it’s brand new. Then we vacuum the inside, polish the dashboard, and Windex the speedometer.

It should go without saying, but it is important to understand why we do all these things. We function better, things work more smoothly, tasks get accomplished, progress is made, we are rewarded for our efforts, we are recognized and can feel better about who we are and what we do. We now identify with how important it is to function properly, to work hard, and to stay healthy.
