Venus and Pluto join together today. Witnessing our interactions and experiences we share with one another from a higher perspective helps us better understand the truths and roots inherent in our actions. The value of the deep connections we share, and how well those connections are evolving and growing, is the prominent theme of today. This year-long cycle beginning is one of rebirth and regeneration in our relationships. Invisible transformative forces are swarming between us, conjuring up our limitations, endings, and deaths, as well as our commitments, deep memories, and certainly our sexuality and passions. With Moon at home in Cancer joining its North Node this morning, how we personalize and process all these feelings of insecurity and trauma helps us along in compassionately entering into a new chapter with one another. And Mars in Scorpio trining Neptune in Pisces brings ample opportunity to find emotional healing and growth deep within our own personal process and transformation. It is an important day for tuning into our emotional healing and committing to a more valuable relationship with each other. Reflection always brings rewards, as long as the intent involves our future.
Moon, freshly reborn into Aries, immediately meets Chiron and opposes Juno this morning, challenging our initial drive to burst forth into our new beginnings. Juno is very pleased to be in Libra, strengthening all our relations and helping us recognize our need for them, but Chiron continues to remind us of the deep personal wounds that played integral roles in depleting our self-esteem. This can feel like a bit of a wet blanket on what would otherwise be a full-blown launching of all engines, but all activations have lessons. Chiron’s lesson, as Moon travels past it, is to listen very closely to our inner child for its cries for help. What sadness have we yet to acknowledge within that, when heeded and nurtured, will allow us to emerge from a shrouded darkness that has so long felt like protection? This emergence will enable us to grasp the horns of life we once held and truly forge our own path. Moon remains in Aries through Sunday evening, giving us quite a fiery weekend to be bold, productive, and fearless, but also head-strong, rash, and resistant to any other way but our own. For this we need to channel Juno in Libra’s feminine wisdom to honor commitment, love, and sacrifice.
As Moon enters Aries we are rebirthed into old wounds that have taken a long time to heal, but find gathering confidence in the faith we learned these last few days.
This morning began with a very early Moon/Neptune conjunction in Pisces, which we likely felt last night trickling in. Moon in Pisces, especially conjunct Neptune in its own sign, is the essence of experiencing the womb in waking life, a watery etheric dreamlike essence that helps us better understand how to trust in the process of becoming. As she approaches Aries, we begin to feel the inevitability of separation from this, thus preparing ourselves to re-individuate and take the reins of our lives back into our own hands. Spending the day meditating on this process will be good for us.
With this Moon/Neptune conjunction in Pisces comes things that are beyond our control, and that includes news we don’t expect or want with retrograde Mercury in Scorpio semi-sextile Jupiter in Sagittarius digging up even more shadows from the past.
Late tomorrow evening and into Saturday, Sun in Scorpio sextiles Saturn in Capricorn which sextiles Neptune in Pisces (which also means Sun trines Neptune). We are caught in a battle between escapism and pragmatism, confused about the values of each. Likely opting for the former, we may get caught in a web of crossed boundaries, responsibilities left by the side of the road in a bag with all our prudent choices in it. There are lessons through this process, however. Just be mindful of your actions and the consequences that could result from those actions. By Sunday we can lick our wounds and hike back the seven miles to look for our bag of pragmatic prudence on the side of the road.
Mercury stationing retrograde today at 27° Scorpio just before it reaches Venus at 28° Scorpio brings to light the underlying currents of power struggles and past trauma we are afraid to face and learn about ourselves and our relationships. Facing our trauma is difficult work and not for the faint of heart, but we are given the opportunity now to reflect upon these issues for the next month, as Mercury goes back through Scorpio. When it reaches the Sun at 18° Scorpio on November 11th, we will more fully understand these matters and how to express them outwardly. As is always the case with Mercury retrograde, be mindful of reflection. It is the ideal time to be introspective about matters relating to how we manage our lives, in particular our relationships, sexuality, limitations, and secrets (Scorpio). Growth comes through reflection and action, the latter being the most difficult to actualize.
Moon joins Jupiter at 23° Sagittarius later this morning, bringing us an opportunity to expand our consciousness into these reaches of reflection in order to better illuminate the resolutions we are facing with our own identity. Our emotional body is awakening. Nurture it and remind it that it is safe in your own embrace.
Tonight at 11:39pm EDT we have a New Moon at 4° Scorpio opposing Uranus at 4° Taurus. At the same time, Mars and Saturn are squaring each other in Libra and Capricorn respectively. This is an extremely powerful New Moon centered around embodying the sacred through awakening our sexual forces. Harnessing these forces is a sensitive dance, however. There is electrifying turmoil in the reaches of our emotional body seeking outward expression. We are facing the most powerful sexual archetypes in a myriad of placements and aspects, so relationship dynamics are most pressing on this New Moon. Our passions and perversions may swing wildly across boundaries into shadows we have repressed deep within our emotional bodies. Because of this, we need to ground ourselves and value some moments alone to recognize these feelings and desires, allow them to lose their affiliation with language, and harness them through heart-centered alignment of the elemental bodies. Our roots may be blocked or unleashed, and our minds may be stagnant or rampant, but whatever the case, open the channels and valleys to allow an uninhibited flow of these tsunamic forces through our physical, emotional, mental, and etheric bodies so they may come back into healthy alignment. We are about to upgrade our journey through life. How do you intend to do that?

Moon is traveling through Virgo today and opposes Neptune in Pisces just after 6pm EDT. We feel this applying throughout the day as our capacity to be efficient and productive and organized (Moon in Virgo) subtly dissolves (Neptune in Pisces), rendering us better off doing any work requiring those virtues in the morning hours. But this brings an important flow later in the day, one that takes us downriver to exactly the place we are meant to go, even though we didn’t plan on it. Virgo Moon wants to be in control of the situation, while Neptune in Pisces renders that futile. Trust in the Way, says Neptune. When we quiet ourselves and allow the dance to unfold we find peace. Keep peace into the evening so we can rest well and make the most of Venus in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn tomorrow!
With Moon freshly into its ruling sign of Cancer today, there is an air of nurturance and nesting. Always a time for shoring up the comforts and security of our shells, Moon in Cancer beckons we make time for ourselves. As she approaches her own North Node at 11° Cancer tomorrow, we feel some relief from the relentless Saturn, Pluto, SN in Capricorn, bringing us an intuitive glimpse into what may come out of this powerful conjunction in January. Listen and observe passing visions and signs tomorrow. Spirit speaks softly. And remember to take delight in your home this weekend, nurture yourself, and reassure your inner child that multitudes can be born of unconditionally loving and supporting yourself.
The New Moon in Libra on Saturday (2:26pm EDT at 5°20′) presents us with an opportunity to witness and integrate the differences and polarities we face in everyday life, especially with others. Integrating these polarities involves more work than witnessing them, but the latter is the catalyst to the former. When we recognize them, we can begin to process and understand how they intertwine with our lives, and then yield to it all in order to manifest our intentions together.
The power of Sun and Moon together in Libra allows us to see all sides of situations and reconcile them in the name of spirit and unification. Libra is ruled by Venus, who is so beautifully transiting her own sign of Libra right now, as is Mercury, further enriching the potency of these unifying principles. It is a time when our capacity to do this is strongest. Look around yourself and notice things, people, or ideologies that you may not like. Though many of these may be very difficult to reconcile, the purpose of the practice of doing so is akin to the Tao, “When two great forces oppose each other, the victory will go to the one that knows how to yield.” Libra’s highest vibration is yielding to others. It is bringing into balance and harmony the opposing forces surrounding us and within us. In doing so, we see that all polarities are merely two sides of the same coin. And choosing one over the other only creates perpetual imbalance and the inability to awaken to the oneness we all embody.
How we relate to one another is rooted in Libra for this reason. It is about learning how to reconcile the differences between us all, not just our nearest and dearest. Once you see the differences between yourself and everything around you, find acceptance in your heart that those differences are important. They are teachers teaching us to open up and accept diversity. Ultimately, there is love is everyone’s heart, even the most despicable person you can think of. That love becomes clouded by ignorance and conditioning that many people cannot find their way through. It is a dense fog that persists in their hearts, suppressed by fear and insecurity. Cultivate compassion by understanding this.
Libra season is a beautiful time. Autumn in the North, Spring in the South. The great balancing of light and dark. Open up your heart and mind in order to witness, integrate, and yield. We are all working out so much in our lives. Be easy on yourself and those around you. Be at peace.
