Half Dome, Yosemite National Park, California, August 28, 2012

I’ve been gone and busy lately. Easily attributed to Mercury stationing retrograde in Pisces on February 16th. As he is venturing in virtual reverse back into Aquarius and stationing direct again on March 10th we are making time to get our essential dignities in order. We are looking into the lens and considering the value of our place in the collective, in the community, and with our friends. It is difficult to explain how this affects us on a visceral level, other than to say that we are receiving flashes, bursts, colorful arrays of lofty visions and ideals. Especially yesterday and today as Mercury sextiles Uranus in Taurus. Here we are minding our own business, going about our daily tasks, however mindless they may be, when all of a sudden, WHAM!, we are blindsided by something we’ve never imagined before coming in from the unseeable layers around us. Listen to it, work with it, see if it’s worth applying to your future. But beware…

…these lofty ideals don’t seem to mesh too well with Mars grinding through the Mordoric marshes of Capricorn and approaching the great halls of Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn. These are rough waters stirring up the ease, churning life into uncomfortable realities we knew we might have to face someday. Why me? Why now? What about them? Do I really have to? Cages of rusting iron surround these ideals as we dream of their unfolding. Deep down we know they’ll manifest in some dimension, but it’s very hard to see where and when that will happen.

The lesson here is not giving up. The lesson is going forth with unshakeable faith that through all the darkness and pain we are pulling our tired limbs out of every day there is a glorious mountaintop to conquer. There is redemption, resurrection, and triumph over our hardships. This year is not for the faint of heart. Our road is not freshly paved, straight, and flat. It is made of gravel with boulders strewn astray from time to time. There are sharp corners around vertical drops. There are steep climbs up unseeable summits. Sitting back and expecting it all to happen on its own is not an option. This is about doing your work, aligning your house, cleaning out the basement, and talking about what really matters with those who really matter.
