Roving about May 19th on the Upper East Side an unexpected German woman in her German accent stopped us to say, “Go zat vay.” The universe seemed to appear before us, so it seemed wise to listen. The woman had noticed our camera and wanted to recommend the view from Peter Detmold Park on the dead end of East 51st Street, a block from where she was standing. There is a pedestrian bridge which spans FDR Drive leading to a sitting area with views of the East River, Brooklyn Bridge, Queensboro Bridge, and the newly built FDR Memorial Park. After a short history lesson from a native New Yorker named Patrick we continued our Upper East Side stroll, zig-zagging our way south & west, allowing each intersection’s right-of-way to dictate our south or westward direction. About six or seven blocks later, and after a wish of catching that German Angel’s name, there she was…as if she was waiting for us. All three of us were very pleasantly surprised to see one another again, and she was anxious to hear if we had followed her recommendation, which we had.
I took this picture of Angelina as we approached the corner of 51st and 1st Avenue in New York City on Monday, May 19th…
Little did we realize the woman in the pink jacket standing ahead on the corner would steer our day a bit east and a bit different. Giselle was a beautiful soul with a heart of gold, and we sincerely wish her well with much peace.
May 19, 2014: While walking and jogging through Central Park in the early afternoon we heard a loud animal sound that seemed to be crying out for help. Stopping and looking up to see where or what the sound was we noticed a baby raccoon dangling from a tree branch over 50 feet above us. It had taken a new adventure too far, and was now unable to pull its lower body back onto the branch and into the tree. Who knows how long it had been there or how long it could hang on before plummeting to its death. Unsure what to do and no one else around we waited with hopes and well wishes for its safety, and Geoff moved directly underneath it just in case. Four additional park walkers stopped with hopes of the same safety for this baby raccoon. The combined energy of all our well wishes blew the tree to sway, and the raccoon could no longer hang on to save his own life. The raccoon let go…free falling 50 feet in what felt like slow motion. We gasped, barely able to watch. Geoff reached out his hand just at the right moment and the baby raccoon’s belly landed flat in the middle of his palm breaking its fall. After gently placing it on the ground the baby raccoon took a number of weak and wobbly steps away before turning around to come back and lick Geoff’s ankle while purring as if to say thank you. Geoff stroked its back and it again weakly wobbled away into the brush. It was a beautiful magical moment in this divine world. (Since we were exercising in the park we didn’t have anything on us, but one of the additional park walkers took this photo of the baby raccoon and sent it to us.)
The astrological cardinal Grand Cross happened at approximately 6pm on Wednesday April 23 while we were in Florence, Italy. This was a squaring of Jupiter, Mars, Pluto, and Uranus… A very powerful time on many levels for believers and nonbelievers alike. Another bold end and new beginning. If you’ve found yourself struggling to accomplish goals or overly uptight this might have something to do with those challenges. Tuesday April 29th marks an eclipse and a new moon, let us launch the next chapter…Cheers, to Sun, Moon, & Stars!!!
